If you missed the "Eyes Wide Open" event held on August 11th at LCHS, you can now view it online at Technology is a vital component for any child’s academic success. Children today have the world at their fingertips, giving them direct access to many forms of technology, both good and bad. This workshop was designed to help parents identify the latest trends in social media, smart phone apps, current Georgia laws, healthy relationships, and much more importantly to help protect your child.

2015 Lumpkin Co. STAR Student & Teacher

The year’s STAR Student for Lumpkin County High School for 2015 is Don Landrum.  Don scored the highest SAT score on a single national test date and is in the top 10% of his graduating class. Don chose his mother, LCMS teacher Kate Landrum, as his STAR Teacher.  While she has taught him many lessons all throughout his life, she was also one of his middle school teachers. Both Don and Kate were recognized in March at the regional STAR banquet in Jasper, Georgia. Don will now compete with other regional winners at the state level.  The state winner will be announced in April by PAGE. Good luck, Don!

Flyers/envelopes will be sent home with Q1 Progress Reports regarding sales for the 2015-2016 LCMS Yearbook.  Those envelopes may be turned in at our LCMS front office. Cost of Yearbook without Name: $35 ; Cost of Yearbook with a 1-line Name Plate (deadline of January 22,2016 to purchase to name plate): $39.

For your convenience, you may also choose from purchasing your yearbook online or by phone, paying by debit or credit card.  A small transaction fee will be added to your order if you choose one of these methods. Cost of Yearbook Online or by Phone without Name: $38.50 ; Cost of Yearbook Online or by Phonewith a 1-line Name Plate: (deadline of January 15,2016 to purchase to name plate)$42.50.

Now You Can Submit Them Online

Want your photos in the yearbook? So do we!

Students, parents and teachers can contribute content to the yearbook staff by uploading photos directly to our website for potential use in our book. You can eShare photos of field trips, sporting events, school and community activities or shots of you and your friends that otherwise might be missed by our staff photographers. Please eShare your pictures quickly as we are constantly selecting images to meet deadlines. Provide as much detail as possible (including names and grades) for each photo, so we have all the information needed for accurate identification.

The more you eShare, the better our coverage can be. Start eSharing today! Last day to submit photos is February 12, 2016.

Your Box Tops Can Earn Money for LCMS

For years now, the General Mills Corporation has been supporting education by donating money back to local schools in return for box tops turned in from items purchased from their company. Here at LCMS, we are proud to be taking advantage of their generosity. Money earned from this project goes to provide scholarships for students to attend the 7th and 8th grade field trip to Jekyll Island.

Shriners Hospitals Help Children

For the past several years, LCMS has been collecting can tabs for the local Lanier Shrine Club. Money collected from the can tabs help to financially support families who have children being treated at the Shriner's Burn Centers and Crippled Children Hospitals across the country. If you would like to help out, please drop off or send your can tabs in plastic baggies to your child's front office. We thank you for your assistance with this community service project.

Shriners Hospitals for Children provide specialized care to children under the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, as well as cleft lip and palate conditions. All services are provided at no charge.
