Congratulations, Coach Webb! Atlanta Journal-Constitution named our very own Head Football Coach, Heath Webb, an award winner within the state. He ranked top honors as the AAA AJC Coach of the Year! #NeverSettle

Lumpkin County High School FBLA partnered with FFA and hosted a district-wide food drive for the holidays. Schools partnered to raise 2775 cans of food to donate to the local food banks just in time for Christmas. The top collecting classroom at each school was rewarded with a pizza party or donut party. Top classrooms: Cottrell Elementary - Ms. McCrary, Long Branch Elementary - Mrs. Cromer, Blackburn Elementary - Mrs. Kingsbury, LCMS - Ms. Nichols, and LCHS - Mrs. Zdroba. What an amazing difference we can make when we come together!

FCA Begins a Blanket Fundraiser!

Culinary Classes donated 200 cookies to the Dahlonega Women's Club for the annual Christmas market. Students baked and boxed all of the cookies. This will definitely keep these students on Santa's "nice list"!

We are so excited to begin a new program in the LCHS Media Center in January 2024! When we return we will collaborate with Ms. Sosebee's and Mr. Maloney's students and "Adopt-a-Plant" in the MC. Students will choose a plant, "adopt" it, care for it throughout the semester, and take it home in May.
To make this happen, Ms. Bell and I have been propagating various plants this semester. Now with ample roots, we are ready to pot some plants!
If you have any discarded pots you would like to donate to this program, we will be happy to take them. We prefer 4, 6, or 8 inch pots.
We will put your name on the pot, a student's name with the plant, and watch them grow!
Drop pots off at the MC!

The Christmas Spirit was high this week with holiday door decorations! Ms. Endicott took the individual classroom decoration win with her "The Best is Yeti to Come". The ELA Hall had all their teachers participate in a whimsical Whooville rendition and won the hall theme. Way to go LCHS teachers! You make our spirits bright!

We had a very successful visit from the Commanding General and Command Sergeant Major of the US Army Cadet Command. Major General Antonio Munera and Command Sergeant Major Roy Young oversee all Army JROTCs and ROTCs throughout the world. While visiting, they received a tour of our incredible JROTC facility and received a briefing about our Battalion by our Cadet Battalion Staff.
