Friday proved to be a GREAT day to save LIVES. Many thanks to Ms. Gilleland and Ms. Wright for organizing a very successful Blood Drive!



It is not very often that you see a unicorn at LCHS. Today we found 4! Happy Halloween!

This week, 11 students competed at the Skills Challenge against high school CTAE programs from around the Gainesville area. This is the precursor to the SkillsUSA competition with the emphasis on construction type competitions. LCHS students did very well. A.J. Moss won 1st place with Levi Self placing third in the residential wiring competition against 16 competitors. In addition to their tools win, both A.J. and Levi won scholarships to the Independent Electrical Contractors apprenticeship program. Andrew Wayne placed second against 12 competitors in the masonry competition also winning a medal and tools. Please join LCHS and congratulate these students as they continue to refine their skills, represent their school, and pursue the careers of their dreams.

Congratulations to Will Wood, Running Back for LCHS, for having an OUTSTANDING game this past week including an 80 yard touchdown run! He is Lumpkin County's Farm Bureau Player of the Week!


Dr. Alldred and Ms. Westafer’s Environmental Awareness Club has been making a difference this month by recycling another 930 plastic bottles! They are at a grand total of 2,077 out of their goal of 6,000 bottles for this school year!




Mrs. Westafer's classes are enjoying their studies about Genetics. Last week they built candy models and then opened cells to extract real DNA.




Lumpkin County Band of Gold made GRAND CHAMPIONS at the Berkmar Marching Invitational this past Saturday placing first overall.

Yesterday, Riley Ray took his Automotive students to visit Lanier Tech. Students learned more about how to successfully pursue high-demand careers in the transportation industry. Students were able to ask questions and speak to former graduate, Coleman Sullens, about his success in the program.
