Raquel Castaneda

Raquel Castaneda
Math Department Chair, 8th Grade Math and Algebra I Teacher

Raquel Castaneda is from Gainesville Georgia. She graduated from the University of North Georgia and has been in Dahlonega since then. She enjoys being able to teach math in this beautiful little mountain town she calls home away from home.

Mrs. Sherri Trammell

Mrs. Sherri Trammell
7th Grade Math Teacher

Sherri Trammell is a graduate of Lumpkin County High School as well as North Georgia College. She later received her Masters Degree in Middle Grades Math and her gifted certification. Mrs. Trammell has taught Reading, Math, Social Studies and ACE Math as well as coached football cheerleading. She hopes to inspire and motivate students to appreciate and find a love of learning.

Mrs. Haley Cain

Mrs. Haley Cain
7th Grade Math Teacher

Haley Cain was born and raised in Lumpkin County. She had the opportunity to go through the Lumpkin school system and participate in many sports throughout the years. She attended UNG for a BS in mathematics and has recently finished her masters from WGU in education. She loves having the opportunity to give back to the community with teaching the wonderful children here and being able to pass on the life-long skills that she acquired through sports and extra-curricular activities to the next generations.

Megan Carden

Megan Carden
6th Grade Math Teacher

Megan Carden is a true Lumpkin County “nugget”. Megan completed K-12 right here in the Lumpkin County School District. Megan then attended the University of North Georgia in the beautiful Dahlonega, Ga. After college, Megan says it was a dream come true to land a teaching position at Lumpkin County Middle School. Megan teaches 6th-grade math and coaches cheerleading.

Ms. Haley Dibble

Ms. Haley Dibble
6th Grade Math Teacher

Ms. Dibble was born and raised in Lumpkin County and is a graduate of Lumpkin County High School. After graduation, she attended the University of North Georgia and served as a community coach for the volleyball team at LCHS. She began her teaching career in 2018 and has been teaching 6th grade math since. Ms. Dibble is now the head volleyball coach at Lumpkin County High School and the head track coach at Lumpkin County Middle School.

Mrs. Robin James

Mrs. Robin James
Teacher, 7th Grade Math

Robin James grew up in Woodstock, GA. She attended UNG for two years after high school and finished her B.A in History at UMUC, Heidelberg Germany. She went on to obtain a Masters in Teaching and Educational Specialist of Instruction Technology from the University of West Georgia. Of all her accolades, Mrs. James' true pride comes from being able to teach Math, a subject in which she struggled in her primary education. Robin James is a wife and mother of three children ages seven, five, and two.

Mrs. Autumn Chatham

Mrs. Autumn Chatham
6th Grade Math Teacher

Autumn Chatham is from Dahlonega and attended the Lumpkin County School System. She went on to attend University of North Georgia and received a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education. Mrs. Chatham taught three years at Long Branch Elementary before staying home to raise her children. She returned to teaching five years later at Lumpkin County Elementary where she taught fifth grade math. She currently teaches sixth grade math at Lumpkin County Middle School.

Dr. Rebecca Davis

8th Grade Math, Algebra 1 Math, 8th Grade Chair, FCA Coordinator

Rebecca Davis has worked at LCSS for 12 years. Rebecca received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. She went on to get her Masters in the Art of Teaching from UNG, her Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College, and her Doctorate in Education from Liberty University. During her time at Lumpkin Rebecca has taught 8th Grade Math and Algebra 1 Math. Additionally, she coached Volleyball for 7 years and Track for 1 year.

David C. Matthews

David C. Matthews
8th Grade Math & Algebra 1 Teacher

Coach Matthews is a resident of Dawson County and graduated from there in 1998. After high school, he joined the US Marine Corps and served on active duty for 15 and half years. Upon leaving Active duty, he joined the reserves and began his teaching career. He retired from the Marines in Jan of 2020 and during that time taught high school math at Dawson County and South Forsyth High Schools. This is his third year teaching math a Lumpkin County Middle School. In addition to his teaching, he has coached Varsity and Middle School Football, Varsity Wrestling, Middle School Basketball, and Varsity Track.
