When one of the charter busses bringing our 8th graders back from Savannah yesterday broke down on the interstate outside of Macon, it looked like our kiddos were going to be stranded for a while! We reached out to our friends in Butts County and one of their drivers, Ms. Deborah, volunteered to take her bus, pick up our students on the side of the road, and drive them three hours back to Dahlonega (arriving at 11:00pm). Her response when we thanked her profusely was "I'm just doing my job." We are thankful for our extended eduction tribe in Georgia and glad everyone is back home safely!

Ms. Grizzle's class continued the Kindness Week Challenge by having lessons on picking up trash, eating healthy snacks, deep breathing, setting goals to smile at 25 people during the day, making hearts to pass out to others, exercising/dancing, listening to music, and making bookmarks. We even had the Partners Club join in on the fun by helping make the hearts!

This past Friday Ms. Grizzle’s class had a Tower Garden party which included harvesting, taste testing, and creating a salad from the variety of leafy greens that their garden produced. They charted their results of the taste test and even made a vinaigrette. Over the past several weeks they have monitored the growth of the plants and checked the pH levels of the water. They look forward to continued growth of the plants and learning more about vegetables. Thank you to the LCEF foundation for making this learning opportunity possible!
